Thankful even when all is not perfect

We all go through some hard times.  There are even seasons in our lives when we wonder if the persecution will ever let up.  Attacks seem to be coming at us from all directions, and we cannot fight it all simultaneously. When adversity seems to be taking over every aspect of life.  These are the times I am speaking about specifically. These are the times when staying focused are the most vital.
We have all been told to keep our head up, chin up, or that things will get better!  We are even told to get over it and move on. (That always has been my favorite.)  All f these statements hold some truth, but in the midst of times in our life when we see nothing else but the pain we cannot comprehend these things.  Nor do we want to hear them!  I am not here to tell you any of the above statements.  I am here to let you know that it is okay to feel lost!  There is a time when we need to hit "rock bottom."  We need to feel those feelings to truly sit back and asses what is happening around us.  We must take the time to truly reflect how bad the situation is, and how can we overcome it.  In a way it is a blessing to take this time. If we are constantly being told to let it go, then we are most likely not slowing down to process the lesson we are meant to learn.
There are times in our lives where we have to fall so hard and low where only God can bring us out!  When it is only His mighty hand that brings us up from the ashes. These are the darkest times we face, but also the most pivotal.   These are moments when we learn how to be truly thankful.   The times we learn that no matter what we face we will be alright!  No matter what comes against us we will not only get through, but will be blessed by them.  When we can learn to be grateful in the midst in our darkest hour, there is nothing we cannot overcome.  True freedom comes from this place.  Ultimate peace can be obtained if you ( and others) allow yourself to "go there."  We can no longer sweep our feelings and issues under the rug.  We cannot pretend it did not happen, or wish it away.  We must go into the wilderness (as Jesus did) to come out the other side a conqueror.  It is the hardest thing we will have to do.  We will tempted, tried, and persecuted. BUT the person you will be when you come out on the other side is worth it.  You will be a warrior, overcomer, and conqueror.  You will finally learn that level of peace you have been praying for.  The level that you see others have, and only wish you did.
That place where you are being attacked, but it is like the bullets are just bouncing off of you!  It is His wish that we all make it to this dimension.  The only question is will you allow yourself to go through the process.
